A customer needed a Mobile Command Center for iron mines. This vehicle was expected to establish better communication with contractors stationed in various mine sections, improve network coverage with the central office, and create wireless network coverage around the vehicle for a minimum distance of 150 meters.
Three functional positions were created on the vehicle along with suitable communication infrastructure across multiple layers.
After the completion of this project, the following capabilities were added to the iron mine:
- Users inside the vehicle, who were previously operators manually storing contractors’ mining data on phones in unofficial storage spaces, were provided a suitable workspace for note-taking and registration in the company’s automation system.
- A mobile phone signal booster layer enabled better communication coverage near mines with weak mobile phone coverage.
- A point-to-point radio on the vehicle’s mast established broadband communication with the mine’s central building.
- A Wi-Fi coverage area of 2500 square feet was provided around the vehicle for connection to the company’s internal network.
- A generator on board for emergency situations, along with a light tower mounted on the vehicle’s mast, provided perimeter lighting around it.
